It's been mad today, so no tlc post for me - feel free to start one if you'd like one.
Just a few organisational notes so I start tomorrow on the right track, without having to wake my brain up to remember what I want to do (LOL).
* ring re tai chi class
* leave note on neighbour's door
* make hair appointment
* manicure and pedicure
* make muffins
* think of what I can eat (I'm bored with my current meals)
* book plumbers / hassle other plumbers
* keep rearranging my room / fixing up this one
* spend 5 - 10 minutes wiping down surfaces to get rid of tradesmen's dust?
* look at paperwork
Options:
* swim?
* church thing?
Pretty dull, really. Will try to post & contribute more tomorrow.
Vixen, what were the rioters rioting baout? I didn't understand the abbreviation.
Zonked - heading to bed.

Fairly good day...
Finally caught up on my emails! :p (Check yours, Ivy and Vixen.)
Also picked up a chair and assembled it, with the help of my dad. For a heartsinking few minutes, we thought we had another dud chair on our hands and would have to take it back for a second time, but nope: got it working as it should. So I finally have a comfortable chair for the first time >_>
Now if only I could get a mattress that wasn't the most uncomfortable thing to lie on in existence...
I've got a hospital appointment tomorrow. Nervous, tbh.

Not much here either. Going to work late to leave late so I can hit Remi #2 on my way home from work at 7:30 in the morning.

I got your email, NCOT, and thanks. I don't know why you think you're the worst correspondent in history: I beat you to that ages ago and hate to think how many letters & emails I owe.
I really do hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
V tired this morning after v little sleep last night, so much faffing is going on here. Have rung re tai chi, though. No answer, so enquired about
yoga instead, and think I might try a class. (Health people are nagging me to do something in a group environment). Have also made a hair appointment and started dusting, as well as washed a new ironing board cover. Yay.
Next up is showering and dressing... It's all terribly exciting here, as you can see.
Good luck with your infusion, mdf.

@Ivy - Ah, but what about
forums and PMs? Take
those
into account and I'm probably the worst correspondent there is. Not to mention texts, Christmas cards, etc. etc. ;p
Thank you. So do I...
Good luck with the yoga. Do you actually want to do it, though, or is just for the benefit of the health people? It could be a great idea, but only if *you* want to do it, really. Hope that's not speaking out of turn.
@mdf - Yeah, good luck with the infusion.

Tired tired tired. Faff faff faff.
* ring re tai chi class - yes
* leave note on neighbour's door - n/a at this point
* make hair appointment - yes
* manicure and pedicure - yes
* make muffins - no
* think of what I can eat (I'm bored with my current meals) - not yet
* book plumbers / hassle other plumbers - no. Couldn't handle them today
* keep rearranging my room / fixing up this one - done some
* spend 5 - 10 minutes wiping down surfaces to get rid of tradesmen's dust? - yes
* look at paperwork - not yet
I took the rubbish out, too.
Quite frankly, NCOT, all I want to do is curl up in my little bed and sleep (fibromyalgia), but I think the med people feel that I need to broaden my social circle if I'm to be happier and more resilient, if that makes sense. The only problem is that it will make me even more tired, which will, in turn, make me want to go to bed even more, and make me resent and avoid social situations even more, etc etc etc etc etc ... bah.
I really do sympathise when you ask what this is all about
and why we keep on keeping on, because I wonder myself sometimes. Me, I think that any person who is struggling with a chronic illness is absolutely heroic every time they get up and attempt to face a new day when they really don't have the heart for it ... So, NCOT, kudos to you, and kudos to me too.

No real TLC's for me today unless my new book turns up, in which case i shall read it with a box of tissues next to me!
MDF - hope the infusion has gone well, and you get relief.
NCOT - hope your hospital appt goes well, and enjoy your comfy chair!
Ivy - i agree with you, and i think you have done brillaintly to get as much done as you do. I have gone on strike, mum has done one load of dishes but we have dirty dishes piled up. I refuse to do it!

@Ivy - It does make sense, but I also think they are looking at it from the wrong angle. However long it takes, you need to recuperate. Even if socialising is 'good' for you, it will only be beneficial if you actually
enjoy
it: otherwise you will just left be feeling even more tired without any warm memories of having had a really nice time to compensate for it. I count myself lucky that I don't suffer anymore from fatigue so bad that I could barely stand or sit up at its worst, but back in 2005/6 I did. I suffered from mystery fevers which left me chilled and shivering to the bone. It was debilitating in the extreme: as tired as I get nowadays it's still nothing like it was back then. My heart goes out to you because I think you do suffer from pretty bad fatigue, and I can see how much work you do in spite of it.
I don't really think the medical people should be pressurising you, IMO. If you get better (which I certainly hope that one day you do) then going out more often will probably happen anyway. In fact it almost certainly will. I go out almost every day now, whereas a few years ago I literally wouldn't set foot outside the front door for weeks at a time.
@choc - Thanks! Btw, I think you're right to go on strike: I fully support you on that one. In our pre-dishwasher days, I always did my fair share of the washing up after meals. Speaking of dishwashers, if you could afford one (same goes for Ivy), they are a brilliant solution to the perennially boring washing up...
Gotta dash for now. Still haven't had a shower yet! Later folks :p

I wish we could afford a dishwasher, i'd even save up and pay for it myself.....but our kitchen is so teeny weeny that it wont fit! Hopefully when we move we should be getting a dishwasher....otherwise we will never get any dishes done!

Thank you for that, NCOT. You echo, exactly, my own personal feelings, because I know I go out more as soon as I start feeling better. I also notice that the people exerting this pressure are either married or living with parents, and therefore not solely responsible for the running of a house and their personal affairs, so the responsibility I carry is a fair bit more than theirs - I HAVE to keep spoons in reserve, because I can't send a husband out for groceries etc if I end up in bed, too exhausted to move.
Choc, I've heard that it's possible to buy small dishwashers that will sit on a bench and just wash a small load. Perhaps that might help? (Or maybe you could throw the dishes in the washing machine, LOL).
Hard, isn't it, to always have to wash dishes by hand?
NCOT, I need to think more about
your terrible day and your feelings of frustration before I reply properly. My heart goes out to you, though.

That's a good point about
being married or living with parents actually. It
is
easier when you can share the chores; much easier. My fairly recently widowed aunt - who is old but also in (mostly) good health - has found that out. I do long to have my own place at times, but I do know I would get an unpleasant shock at some aspects of it, as well.
The small dishwasher idea sounds good :p ... Actually we were lucky. The dishwasher came with the house when we moved here three years ago, but my parents didn't use it for the first 18 months. If a friend hadn't made them use it, it would probably be unused to this day. And yet we use it every single day now.
I saw your email... In a nutshell, I agree with it completely. I will reply tomorrow, if I can; if not the day after. The reason I say that is I'm off to my brother's to help babysit on a Wednesday as usual. I'm dreading it, as I have to ferry the older boy to his tennis lesson tomorrow and then back again two hours later. And then it's a long day and I won't be back until at least 10pm, so I might be too tired. Like tonight :/ Been absolutely shattered tonight. The hospital visit just really, really took it out of me. It was just upsetting, even if it was self-induced...
On a happier note, my aunt (same one in the first paragraph) has found her cat! She acquired two 8-month old cats recently - one is half burmese, the other is something similarly slinky - and one went missing yesterday. Obviously the worst was feared, but it had actually got stuck up a tree. Apparently a fire engine had to come out to rescue it >_>

I've been MIA for a couple days again...
Went to my PCP today because I've been having pain under my ribs and around to my back. He says it's my gallbladder and he could send me for an ultrasound, but since I had one about
a year ago, it probably wouldn't show anything....so, I've been taking morphine all day today. I told him, just what I need, another thing that I have to deal with that I can't just go get fixed...
NCOT-sorry about
your dr appointment today.
I'd post more, but I'm a little out of it because of the morphine. Will post more and reply to you all tomorrow (depending on if I'm on morphine still, that is)

Ow, Becky. I'm so sorry. You're right: exactly what you don't need just now :-(. How unfair is it that all these thigns are happening just as you're starting to work again...?
:-(
No rush on the reply, NCOT, and good luck with the babysitting and the incredibly long day.

ps. Choc, kudos to you on the strike. I'd abandon my dishes in sympathy to support you, but the only person who'd suffer would be myself
.
Up the workers and all that,
Ivy, waving red flags and singing the Internationale on your behalf.
