Could stopping Prednisone suddenly cause your cortisol level to rise?

I think it works the other way around. Yr adrenal glands go to sleep and stop producing cortisol. It takes quite a while to wake them up again. That is why you should take it easy when going off steroids.
Take care

Thanks Ari12! Was just curious because I had blood work on Wed and was told on Thursday my Cortisol level was high and that I need to see an Endocrinologist (sp?). Was very sensitive to the steriods so decided to stop on my own since the Dr wasn't listening. So figured maybe that's why the level was high. Or maybe I was sensitive because my level was high? Not a clue. Will have to wait until Dec 14th for my appt that I just got today.
