Sorry if my post wasn't clear. No, I actually had test after test for 8 years and nothing showed up (other than a messed up gallbladder and endometriosis) so my GI sent me for a second opinion. That GI did the capsule endoscopy, which I'd never had before, and Promethius test (both said IBD) and I was started on Remicade, which helped tremendously and put me in remission. I left that GI because he was a moron and his office staff were as well. So, the only scopes done pre-diagnosis were probably from 8 or more years ago.
In the last 4 or so years that I've had my new GI, we've done a few colonoscopies and nothing has shown up, which he originally claimed was because my Crohn's was in remission. Once my rheumy said we were out of options and really needed to try Enbrel, he first said no because my "Crohn's has proven difficult to treat in the past," meaning only the biologicals seemed to help. A year later, and after still no arthritis relief, he decided to question my original dx (or maybe I should say try to confirm/dispute it) to determine whether we could stop the Crohn's meds and focus on the arthritis.
So, I don't think digging up old pathologies will help, if they are even still around, since nothing even showed up on the colonoscopies. Endoscopies always show stuff, but nothing that would explain why biologicals have helped so much. When I asked the GI about that, he said that if the biologicals really helped that much, then it's Crohn's. And, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Related Arthritis, which makes no sense if I don't have Crohn's. So, I'm just hoping that if I really do have Crohn's and it's been in remission all these years, that it will still show something on the capsule endoscopy.
