I've generally been doing well since I went on a gluten free diet and have some complaints, but not always on a daily basis. I got a cold two weeks ago and all hell broke lose. Does this ever happen to anyone else?
I got two painful swellings on my back and hip ... one 'popped' and is crusting over/healing. It was incredibly painful including my groin lymph nodes. Some intestinal distress but that is mostly okay now.
Then the throat ulcers came back with vegence and are not healing really. Every day I think they are getting better and then I think I feel a new one. My lymph nodes in my throat are painful and swollen. I don't have a huge number of sores, just strategically placed!
Last time I had mouth ulcers, I didn't know what they were and I didn't have insurance then ... so I waited for months until they go really bad. Turned out I had a CDiff infection, treated with flagyl and then I was fine.
So, I've read that it can be a folate problem ... and my red blood cells came back enlarged, could be a folate or B12 issue. Could this be causing it? Another CDiff infection?
Should I ride the sores out - i.e. will they eventually heal or is prednisone needed?
Thanks!
