Does anyone out there that the Crohns is also affecting the liver? My Doc wants to put me on Humiria, since surgery he says surgery is not an option. I'm just wondering if that would be a good drug of choice for me. I took the video home and watched it, and my husband recommended for me not to take it as it has some serious side effects. I called the drug company, and they could not give me an real answers on that. I'm sorry I don't remember my sign in name, I think I registered under 2different names. Thanks-Silvergriz

I do not quite understand your post, my daughter has crohns and also primary sclerosing colingitis PSC which is a progressive cirrohsis that affects some crohns patients. I hope thats not the case with you. If your liver values are elevated and not drug related this need to be investigated and monitored. There is no treatment aside from transplant.

some of us get the old "fatty liver" thing because of absorbtion trouble, which will elevate your numbers.. you would need to talk to your dr and find out exactly what your numbers are and have him/her help you understand what is happening.

As long as your liver counts are monitered and they are not bad I would think that humira is definately safer then some of the other drugs such as Methotrexate for the liver. But I am not an MD.
No drug is without it's side effects even asprin and tylenol have them.
