With my heart condition, I'm taking Bumex 1 mg. It makes me drink more fluids or I'll get dehydrated. Getting dehydrated is not good for me because it causes stones. So, I go to the rest room 15-17 times per day. I have a narrowed ileum due to the CD. Everything I eat has to be small with a lot of fluid. My rectum gets so sore. Any roughage and I get blood from high up and the rectum and anus. I use 1% hydrocortisone cream around and inside the rectum and it helps if I can get a few hours between movements. But not high up. The GI guy says I'm doing as well as can be expected, give my other conditions.
Anyone else experiencing this? I've tried all the non-script antidiarrheas as he has suggested.

That has been my everyday life for the last 5 years....runny with no form......its very odd for me to have 'normal' bms...if I am high on my liquid intake then sometimes its like water...they gave me some orange powder stuff to mix in water(it also lowers cholesteral..but don't need that) but when I take it I don't go for a couple of days..then when I do go its still loose.....and I have more discomfort then when I was just going 3-8x a day like normal. I also have crohns of the TI but never have had blood in my stool....my dr mentioned that its possible but more for pp with crohns-colitis to have blood...(?)

The GI doc says I'm doing good. I have the blood in my BM's 1 out 3 days. I made a mistake once by thinking a full belly of lean meat, may tighten up my BM. Big mistake! I though I was dying. Almost went the ER with the pain and I thought obstruction. Behind the meat was about a half gallon of fluid. It was like cork, and then it blew. Never do that again. I lost 10 lbs that weekend and was painful all weekend. I started taking some prednisone that I had left over. Called the Dr.'s officeBy the time I got into the GI doc, he didn't think much of it. The soreness was about gone from the prednisone. He told me not to take it unless he tells me. But that could be 3 wks to a month.

I make an appointment with my doctor for everymonth...if my crohns is acting up then I know I am seeing him....if its not acting up then its just to go in to make sure all is ok with meds or diet....I do live in a small town though and if I have bad problems then usually all I have to do is call and talk to the nurse and I get in that day....its just my family doctor who is working with my GI and he follows what the GI tells him to do and he sends reports back to him on how I am handling the treatment and to get into my GI office is like pulling your own teeth as there are only 2 of them in the city closest to me and they are always booked solid.

I stay away from fatty foods as for me that tends to loosen the bms even more then normal. Low fat, Low fiber diet...cut out/down caffine intake...buffalo...wild meat I can do occasionaly...mostly chicken, fish and eggs are my source of protien. I find that everybodys diet is so vastly different on here that its hard to guess what would work for you and your symptoms...
