Bum Question..

Good Evening everybody!!

I have a question...the doctor gave me some anti-biotics and when I went to fill them the pharmasist told me that the one would cause diarrhea I thought not a problem as that is what I have anyway..well let me tell you..I was not expecting to have something that feels like acid   leaving my body!!!  Now cleaning with tissue hurts like a * *...and it burns when exiting body ....and around the anus and a tad inside..plus I must have a small cut or something(hemi) as sometimes there is just a bit of fresh blood on tissue(would also explain the burning when going).

Now the question is...do any of you use personal wet wipes...what kind...will they burn..and are they flushable(septic safe)...and what kind of cream can I use to releve the burn...can I use vaseline or do I have to get something else.

Anti-biotics script is: Apo-Amoxiclav  1 500mg x3

                                Apo-Clindamycin 2 150mg x 3

My favorite wipes are the the Cottonelle soothing clean with Aloe and E in the green refill pack. They seem a lot more soothing to me than any others, even the regular Cottonelle.

For your bum I would recommend Calmoseptine. It protects and promotes healing. In the fall I had a small anal fissure that was very painful, this was the only thing that actually seemed to help it heal. They have it at Walgreens but keep it behind the pharmacy counter.

Sounds like you might have an abscess. Is that the reason why your doctor prescribed antibiotics?

When I had my abscess each BM was a torture chamber that felt like I was expelling shards of glass. Moistening the TP with witch hazel is an inexpensive but very effective method that worked for me. Along with sitz baths.

Babeinthewoods: My WCB was really high so I got the one ant-biotic for that and for some reason I had a bladder infection as well...so he scripted both the antibiotics...one for the guts and one for the bladder.

I have alot of narrowing in my lower blowel...but my SBFT showed that my narrowing looks almost the same as my CT scan over 3yrs ago....but he hasn't called for me to go for a scope yet to get a close up look and see if there are any other problems that may be down there....so I can't say if I have an abscess or not.

Cupcake, the small amount of bleeding and the hellish burn can be from internal hemorrhoids,
I've got one internally and one just on the outside. They cause me to have the same symptoms
as you. In fact after using the toilet I find it hard to let my breath go and relax the muscles down
there as it's so painful. Sometimes it's been so bad it's reduced me to tears and makes my legs
shake. So perhaps you could use some hemorrhoid cream for a little while. Just a thought!!

Calmoseptine, definitely! It really cools the burning down and was the only thing I found that helped.

Another thing you can try is if you have a hand held shower massage is to jump in the shower or just hang your butt over the side of the tub and clean up with that. I will use a wet wipe just to get the initial mess off then clean up completely with the shower massage. It feels very soothing on my sore bum and I feel like I am cleaner than with just TP or wet wipes. Gently pat dry with a fluffy towel and apply ointment.
