Did a few dishes
Showered and washed hair
Went to appointment
Collected some seaweed.
Went back to bed for a while.


That's it for me. House is a mess, but I will attempt to deal with that another day.

Hope all is well with all our tlcers.

ps. Does anybody here know about infections etc? If I've almost finished the prescribed second course of antibiotics and am still feeling horrid, should I ring my gp and tell him so, or should I just wait until my next appointment which is next week anyway? No temp; and I'll admit I'm having less headaches; but nothing else has improved too much.

I'd call them and tell them you're still not feeling better. It could be that it's a virus and you just have to let it run it's course, but it's definitely worth talking to your dr about.

P.S. (cough cough sneeze snort hack bleurgh) back atcha.

Hey! Let's cross-infect each other, and then we can be sick longer! And it'd be a cross-hemispherian sickness, too, which means it would be worse, because you could catch my summer bug... Yay! What fun!

(OK, I'm a bit mental tonight :-) ).

Thanks for the advice. Will try to do... not sure it'll have much effect as our poor gp is so overworked, but I'll leave a message with the secretary anyway.

Hi Ivy, I am fine, thanks for asking in Fridays thread.

I would have started some TLC's but the last one I listed stuff in turned out to be the weekly and I did not get it done.  I also didn't want to keep saying my TLC for the day is to get through the night at work.

I absolutely would NOT wait if you are done with your pills.  If not, they will tell you to wait they way they did me.  You may have to add some additional meds to help.  What kind of infection anyways?

Hi all from a very sleepy Nanners!! Still feeling a bit of jet lag from the trip, but am back to work today. I hope this doesn't last too long, a little hard on the system.

Today's tlc's for me is to clean up my desk at work
Go to Walmart for some needs
Grocery store to re stock up

Ivy, I would ring your GP and tell him-you know what infections are like, if you don't clear it with a course(or several courses) of anti-biotics then whatever is causing the infection can then become immune to the anti-biotics and give you further problems later.
Hope you pick up soon.

 Mon- load truck with 1 loveseat,2 rockers, 2 easy chairs, 1 coffee table. for my delivery on tues.

 measure clients gallery for structure for new store front. then see gi. he needs to bump my rem from 8wks to 6 wks.

then meet my daughter for early dinner or late lunch. our only child, love her more than life.

Ok, so the verdict is...sinus infection. I've never felt so horrible from one before, but the dr said it might have to do with the fact that i was off Humira for a while then injected last Thursday. It might have shocked my system and that's why the infection got as bad as it is.

She also wants me to take advil for the next couple days since tylenol just isn't cutting it. I took tylenol at 9 and at about 10 when my temp was taken it was already 101.5. Hopefully in a few hours my fever will go away and I'll feel loads better.

(sniffle, cough, sniffle, ick)

Going to try to get some sleep today, as I barely slept last night.

Welcome back Gail. Glad you had a nice trip. Too bad you can't take a vacation after your vacation to get over the jet lag.

Ivy, I was a bit mental last night as well, so didn't even think you were being mental. I think I'll keep my nastiness to myself and let you do the same. I know neither of us needs anything else to deal with. Hope you hear back from your dr soon!

Since you are approved for Advil, using that with tylenol as a sort of cocktail could help bring the fever down.  It's a trick given to us by the ER when my son was very young with a nasty fever.  We did the tylenol, then 2-3 hours later a dose of ibuprofen then 2-3 hours later another dose of tylenol, then 2-3 hours later ibu again, I am sure you get the idea from here.

So was anything given to help with the sinus itself?

Snap, Becky. Mine is supposedly a sinus infection too, borne of a virus I acquired in the middle of January and which isn't going away and doesn't even seem to be getting better :-/.

Did she give you antibiotics etc?

How did you go with loading all that stuff, mdf?

Yes, she gave me an antibiotic as well...yuk. It's augmentin, which will no doubt tear my stomach to shreds, but should clear the infection. She also did a throat culture for strep, and I should find out in the morning what that shows. Either way she would have put me on the same antibiotic, she just wanted to know exactly what was going on just in case it doesn't go away. I also have to return tomorrow and have bloodwork done to check my wbc.

Mdf, I knew you could alternate advil and tylenol, but until I stopped at Walgreens, I didn't have advil even in my house. Once I took 1 dose of advil, I felt like a normal person again! I'm still stuffed up, but at least now I don't hurt all over from the fever! Oh, and she said only to use advil for a couple days to get through the worst of the fever.

That was for my son when he was a toddler, that's what the ER actually did to bring his temp down to let us go home.

I have done that myself over the years.  It did help MY fever stay down so I was not so bad feeling, where just one kind of med every 4 to 6 hours lost effect halfway through. It was years ago though.  It may help with the stubborn temp. 

I just went through the same thing with my sinus infection, it was very deep seated apparently.  Took antis for most of the month of January.
