Lialda, Humira and now MP3

I currently take Humira and azathioprine and pred. I don't know what MP3 is. Any drug that suppresses the immune system will mean that you are more suseptible to other illnesses/cancers. That's what you have to weigh up, is the risk worth the benefit.

I work on the basis that I have to die of something and that will be sooner than my peers due to a combination of blood clotting disorder that they cannot treat and the damage CD has done to my body and system. So if there is something that can give me relief from CD symptoms in meantime and give me better quality of life then would rather have that than longer time but no quality.

Must admit 6MP doesn't mean a lot to me either as up to 5 months ago wasn't on anything anymore and prior to that only azathioprine which I started 16 years ago which settled flare ups down for me. So hadn't bothered to keep up to date with latest medicines. The only thing I would suggest is to discuss with your GI the pros and cons. I have noticed that the pain I was having due to the stricture (not really bad pain just uncomfortable and gripey) from the flare up has gone, whether that is due to azathioprine which I restarted in Dec 2010, Humira or pred couldn't tell you but is probably a combination of all three.

Only issue I have now is high output from the stoma, but with a slight change in diet and taking codeine to slow things down as immodium doesn't work on me, it seems to be getting better. I can't have anymore surgery unless emergency as too much of my bowel has gone already so understand why you are concerned not to have any more surgery either.
