Cimzia Reaction?

Hi everyone!

I started Cimzia last week and seemed to respond well to the medicine (well, no adverse reactions, the medicine itself hasn't made a dent in my symptoms yet). However, since taking it, I noticed something peculiar.

I am sooo itchy!!!! I don't have a rash, there are no bumps or hives anywhere and it seems to all be external. But, my cheeks itch so bad. I feel like I can't scratch them hard enough sometimes. Also, my scalp is super itchy, as well as the rest of my body. It isn't chronic itching, I just notice that I am itchier than I was before. (My face is DEFINITELY the most noticeable.)

Do you think this is because of the Cimzia or do you think this is all in my head and I need to check for spiders somewhere?

Debra, I haven't heard of anyone else having this reaction to Cimzia and I never had a problem like that, but that doesn't mean it isn't being caused by the Cimzia.  I would watch to see if it seems to get worse after your next injection and see if it seems to get better right before it's time to do the injection.  Does benedryl help any?

I get an itchy rash on my chest, ever since being on biologics, about 2 yrs now.  My dermatologist told me I had to use some expensive antibiotic cream.  Well it didn't work. So I tried generic hydrocortisone cream for few days and it cleared up!  I didn't even expect it to work but it did.  Maybe give that a try?

I had those symptoms when I was on Humira. My Dr. prescribed Vistaril and it worked well. It made me tired so I always took it at night. I also used an all natural anti-itch lotion from Whole Foods that worked well but I dont remember the name of it, sorry! Hope you find something that works because I know how maddening that itching can be!!

hi im on my 2rd dose of cimzia after two weeks of the 1st dose i got sick.. ive been sick with flu and upper respiratory symptoms not sure if its the cimzia or if i just got sick anyone else have this problem thanks

I have noticed that I am itching so much all the time. It is maddening. It feels like it is all over like bugs crawling on me. Is this a severe symptom? I would think so. I will have to talk to the doctor next visit. I started Cimzia in December and have noticed it for about 2 months. No apparent reason for the itching but feels like this especially in the evening just before bed. Anyone else experience this?
