Ides - I have a question for you!

I was searching the site and saw that you were put on Simponi for your AS a while back. Are you still on it? Did you find that it had any positive effect on your CD?  My Rheumy just prescribed it for me and I am hoping it will help with the gut too. Just wondered what your thoughts were on all of this. Thanks for any info you can give!

Stef, I am still on Simponi. I have been on it since June of 2009, so almost 2 years. It is prescribed to be taken every 30 days but my rheumy moved mine up to every three weeks. I was getting a return of the joint symptoms at the 22-25 day mark. Moving it to every 3 weeks took care of that.

In regards to my guts - I was scoped in May last year, just a month short of a year on Simponi. There was no signs of Crohn's in my TI, my original site of CD. My guts went into remission when I was on Remicade, My GI said that Simponi is likely to be effective for some with Crohn's. He thinks at some point it may be approved for treating CD.
