surgery question

We're any of you that had a partial resection smart enough to ask your GI about how you were put back together?   For some reason after 15 years, it's really perplexing me.  I now have CD again at the site of resection (of course) but in my mind, if you cut out a foot and a half of someone's intestine, things have got to be moved around right??  Or are they smart enough to put the place they cut right back in the lower right quadrant so that if you have problems again you're not saying, "oh the middle of my upper quadrant (which is about where I think I would be left off at) hurts for some reason."?

I suppose the later, makes sense... since I still refuse to be, or admit I'm, sick; I don't ask my GI.   Plus, I only started having problems about 6 months ago, so I don't know this guy very well.  (-wasn't very impressed when he only talked to me for 5 minutes the first time he saw me and then of course didn't remember anything about me the next appointment.)

Anyway, sorry for the rambling... anyone that can draw/paint me a picture... that would be AWESOME!

Yup, I have actually had non-GI doctors try to explain to me that I am wrong about where my new joint between large and small intestine is. But after 4 resections, I have had enough taken out that there is no way my joint is at the same place. I have an awesome picture from a recent CT scan that shows my new anatomy, I am thinking of keeping it with me at all times so I can pull it out as a reference.
