I came across an interesting article about stem cell therapy being used for Crohn's with tremendous success. I remember my father telling me about it a while back, guess I didn't really listen. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/02/090219105326.htm

I emailed the doctor who is a part of the team that administers this treatment. I'm thinking about trying it. First I'm going to try LDN, then if that doesn't work, try this. My parents are willing to do anything for me, they told me not to worry about the costs. I seriously don't know where I would be without the support of my parents. I owe everything to them.

Yea this has been being done for a atleast since I got crohns disease which was a little over 8 years ago now I remember reading about it. When it was in its initial stages, and I do remember reading that the ones that had been done within the United States borders they had tracked it was small enough and I think it had been a little over a years time past since the treatment and surprisingly every single one of the patients were still in remission and had not flared. You might say oh a year... but people like me that flare multiple times a year.... hey, I'll take that year anytime. and I think it was actually really expensive like $200,000.00, US dollars. Because there was a police officer I remember reading about that his police friends and department had some kind of fundraiser to raise the money for it because insurance wouldn't pay for it and they also had to come up with enough money for his family to get an apartment near the hospital which was also a University Im pretty sure, because most breakthrough type things obviously happen near a University Hospital.
Anyways if you parents can afford to pay for this good luck. And I really honestly hope it works better then anything else you've had or heard of, I hope it lasts you at a minimum dozens upon dozens of years.
Id like to get to talk to someone who has done it or knows someone who has done it. I know that its highly successful for other illness and chronic disease... but what's good for one isn't always good for the other, but I have to say I have heard anything negative about the treatment and Crohns Disease.

$200,000!!!! That's the equivalent of buying a new home! Wow, I hope that's not the case. That's a crazy amount. I was hoping it was in the tens of thousands, not the hundreds. This is something I'd really like to try. Nothing works for me anymore, I don't know what to do anymore. I emailed the doctor, I'd like to see what he is going to say about the costs.

I know that a federal judge overturned the ban on stem cell research finally. It's about time. Who knows how long it'll be before they even do something for Crohn's though. I really want to try and see if I can have this done. I'll keep everyone updated.

Im still pretty sure that there is no Federal funding for certain stem cell research period because of ethical issues. We're going to run across this and simliar issues with ethics a lot in the near future with advances in medicine....well that is if our medical industry isnt hindered by whats coming in a few years.
