Proctitis-how long does it take to get better with meds?

I had my colonoscopy last week and the only thing the doc saw was proctitis. He thought it was from the prep but I've had those symptoms for a month before the testing. I was given Rowasa enema but I had a weird reaction to the generic(muscle pain). Then they switched me to cort enema. I've used it for two days now and I'm not really noticing any difference. In fact, I think I have more blood and mucous now. Does it take a while before you get better? How long is normal for me to start noticing a difference for the better with using these enemas?

BTW, my biopsy results are not back yet. They did not find any polyps during the colonoscopy.
