I'm down to 5mg of Prednisolone after a few months on it, and the past few days I've been feeling quite tired, even when I get 8-10 hours of sleep! I feel a tad bit light headed also.

Could it be my body adjusting to the lower doses of Pred after been on it for so long? I also increased my Imuran from 100mg to 150mg about 2 weeks ago.

Can you get withdrawal like symptoms from Pred?

No I think its the increase of Imuran. Lots of folks get really fatigued when first increasing their dose. Hugs!

Until your body adjusts to the new dose. Sadly expect it to be a few weeks. If it gets too bad, you might have to go back down on your dose. But most adjust within time. Hugs~

Hi,

I don't know about Imuran,  but yes there are withdrawal symptoms from prednisone.  Always follow your doctors instructions for tapering the pred, so that your adrenal glands wake up.  Symptoms can be weak, lethargic, lightheaded, no appetite, generally feeing like you have a bad flu where you can't get your head up off the pillow.  One can ck out adrenal suppression for more info..

I have just finished my pred after 5 months and did slow reduction and stopped last Thursday. Monday came down with bad summer flu type thing and then my joints and muscles have been aching like mad. I couldn't understand it until I remembered that I had same thing 7 years ago when on pred high doses for long time, as soon as I stopped my joints and muscles went haywire, the arthritis came back really badly and took few weeks for it to settle down again, even though I do a very slow decrease schedule.

I have been doing a very slow taper and now have been on 7.5mg for a week with no other med changes and I am tired! You know that totaly wiped out kind of tired.I do a small activity, rest, that kind of tired. And my joints hurt again. I really would like to get off the prednisone, I started it in October and have tried to taper a couple of times. The fatigue and joint pain return when I get below 17.5. I may just have to resign myself this roll of fat around my middle and my slight moonface, not tooo bad and go back to 20mg? But for now I am just roughing it out and hoping that my next dose of Remicade helps with the joint pain, Remicade has closed my fistula and reduced my fissure now if it will just take care of the joints. :)
