Endeavor?

Thanks Zanne, Mom is doing well she is in rehab now, she has been there for about a week, still in Reno though, but making progress. She had some feeling/movement in her left foot the other day which is encouraging. She is working really hard at her therapy, she has three hours a day. We have talked to her a lot on the phone this week, and I was able to hold a 15 min long conversation with her the other day, its harder when she tired but she does well. My cousin, her nephew and his wife are visiting her today for mothers day so that is nice since we can't be with her. We sent her a big Mother's Day care package with books and things to help keep her busy on her days off from therapy. Still not sure when she will be back east, all the legal paperwork is being sorted out now, fun fun fun...

I spent a week at Lahey, and I'm feeling really good mentally and emotionally. I still have some gut pain, and my abscess is still sore because of BM freguency but each day gets better. I really haven't felt in this good of a place in a long time. So that is good. I'm on steroids right now so that is helping a lot. Also my doctor started me on Imuran because the Humira isn't as effective as it could be, but that is going take three months to see any effect. We are going wednesday to Lahey for a follow up with my surgeon and a GI doctor there. Because I wanted to have a relationship with a GI there so there is someone I'm comfortable with since most of my hospitalizations this year have been because of my abscess that is where I will go.

That is sounding quite good. I know she isn't where you want, mainly on the east coast, but she is in good hands and she has family to help. It will be a long road, but sounds like she is doing really well. I'm sure she really appreciated the basket of goodies. As we all know it can be so hard to fill the day when we are stuck in the hospital.

I am also glad you are starting to feel some better. Maybe with your mom doing better, your stress will calm down and then things will really fall into place for you. Hey we can hope can't we

Ivy: It all has been very positive, and it definitely helps being able to talk to her. She doesn't quite sound like herself as far as what I'm used too, but each day she sounds closer to my mommy. We talked to her yesterday on Mother's Day and she was the most animated I've heard her so that helps a lot. During the week they have her busy with therapy so by the time we get to talk to her she is quite tired, and you can hear it in her voice but she is trying and working hard.

Zanne: As much as I wish she was her with us, it doesn't matter where she is as long as she is getting the help she needs and improving each day, that is all I want, which is! It is going to be a long journey but it has been an positive and encouraging one so far. Things are starting to all fall into place. During the week they have very busy with therapy but on the weekends she has off so I put in a lot of books and stuff for her to read since I know she get bored. My mom has never been good at sitting and doing nothing, she was always moving and on the go. So this definitely a lesson for her as well. Definitely having mom improving and doing well helps me for sure!

Thank you all for thinking of us during this time and the kind thoughts and support! Definitely helps having people to talk to when it comes to the Crohn's side of things as we all share some sort of common understanding!
