steroid shot???

Just quick question, does anyone know if there is a steroid shot that can be given or get a RX for, as apposed to taking a pill. The reason I ask is my stomach absolutley cannot tolerate prednisone, and now I have been on entocort about 3 months now and having that same stomach discomfort, its almost worse than my crohns pain.. Just a thought.... Thanks

I know there's a IV form called Solu-medrol (sp?) I believe. I'm not sure if that's something that can help you in your search. I know they give steroid shots on occasion for upper respiratory illnesses but don't know if that's something that you could do on a regular basis.

Usually when the steroids start upsetting your stomach like that the docs will prescribe something like Prilosec to take while on it. Just a thought!

Not really sure that the shot thing is available outside a hospital. Hugs!
