I tested positive for celiac 11 yrs ago, shortly after being diagnosed with crohn's. Had lost a ton of weight and had zero energy. Both symptoms of either illness. Was put on a gluten free diet and began to see improvements almost immediately. A few years later was tested again for celiac and came back negative. So whether it's celiac, or the wheat is just a trigger for the crohn's, the gluten free diet has benefited me either way. I believe wheat is generally hard to digest anyway, especially for someone with crohn's. I've been on the diet ever since, and at this point a burger would just taste weird with the bun still on.
