I've got everything crossed for you. I know the prep is miserable, but if it works it will all be worthwhile.

Good luck Vicky! Glad I am not you, but want you to know I have you in my prayers that this procedure works for you and you do not need any more surgeries. Hugs!

I think we need a better word than prep because prep sounds like setting the table whereas the prep you are doing is fairly miserable :(
How about
"Self Inflicted Bowel Contortion Proceedure"?
Anyway I hope all "goes" well for you and good luck with the scopings.

FunGuy I like your self inflicted bowel contortion procedure, but it's a mouthful, so we will call it SIBCP for
short!!
Thanks Gail, I need all the help I can get. Would you believe, that I have obstruction type pain this morning.
I'm hurting without eating or drinking. I'm a little concerned!!

I was trying to come up with a phrase that had a great acronym but couldn't quite get it to work. Something like Silly Humiliating Intestinal Trauma proceedure. ahem ahem.
Wishing you well.

Well the results weren't what the doctors expected. There is no stricture!! Just severe disease. The ileal
opening was nearly swollen shut with inflammation and ulcers. They did stretch it
open for me, but that's
not gonna last. So I'm back to 40mgs of pred, and see the doctor in one month to see where we go from
here. I kinda wished it had been a stricture, because I've now been on a 8 week tapering course of steroids
with no effect :(

So are they going to put you on some other/stronger maintenance medication long term? At least there is a chance that you might get out of this without surgery.
Hope the after effects of all the prep and procedure aren't setting you back too much. Take it easy for the next few days (ya right!). ((((HUGS))))

Suzanne, I can't have any of the stronger meds, Imuran allergic to, 6mp gave me pancreatitis, and damaged it
badly, now I have chronic pancreatitis. Remicade, anaphlactic shock, humira, lupus. I think I'm one of the
small percentage of people that have these responses. So my choices are slim to none, unless of course they
come out with something different.
I have known for some time now that my treatment was limited, but I've been relatively lucky until since
about
Christmas. I had flares, but we could control them, but this time it seems to got a hold and don't wanna
let go. I can't say I'm totally surprised as my life has been kinda turned upside down lately. I still hold out hope
of feeling better though, but I have to say that's getting old now, as it is for many of us. It gets hard to think
on the positive side, when you don't feel good 24/7, but I don't have to tell you that. (((hugs back at ya)))

Not the news I wanted either. I thought with a stricture and little or no active disease I would have
a good chance of this balloon dilatation working for awhile, and I would at least pretty good.
I know it is possible for me to have a little relief because they did stretch it some, but I also know
with it being very active I won't really feel in much better health. Oh well, I'll get there in the end,
it'll just take a little longer this way!!
Thanks guys for all your well wishes, it means such a lot!!
