Do you get so tired after going to the bathroom that you need to go to bed

I don't have episodes like you describe. But I have never really been one to have to get up during the night to go, except to pee, now that I am getting older. But, there are times when I will be in the bathroom for a long time, or have to really rush to get there, and it really takes something out of me. After those periods, I don't feel like myself for quite a bit. My bed is literally about 7 feet away from my master bathroom, so if I can take the time, I will lay down for a while and rest. Other times I just have to plug through it. I have always thought that it was a sudden change in electrolytes, fluids or something like that. I just feel depleted and need to replenish my stores of something. After a half an hour or so I can usually function again. I know I am having a really bad day if it happens more than once, cause it is usually a rare thing for me.

I get tired (sometimes extremely) after "d" episodes, especially if they are very watery and frequent. I will usually nap anytime I can fit one in, or else rest on the couch.

Oh, I've totally dozed on the can in the wee hours of the night, never passed out though. That is probably not a good thing, collegestudent. Hope that doesn't happen often.

I'm okay now but during that time I felt like my pain was literally at 9 out of 10, I think I couldn't handle it and I wasn't on any pain meds. Should have taken codeine or something.

When it's particularly bad, I often get extremely tired after a BM. It's a lot of work. I don't usually fall asleep though, I'm pretty good at staying awake.

Actually last nite and today I have been feeling pretty crappy.  Went to the bathroom so much that I am exhausted and have a headache.  Does anyone ever pass out from the pain.  Sometime I break out into a sweat and pass out while trying to have a BM.  My doc said its a basel response?  Hope I'm not alone on that...Share with me if you have ever experienced passing out..

with my severly altered internals, i get large spasms when i go . sometimes continuously contracting untill i almost faint.. takes a lot out of ya..

I don't have Crohn's, but I did get really sick from bad food and when I went to the bathroom, the runs, I fainted. I went to the hospital after that because I injured my head (40 stitches). While there, I fainted again. They kept me at the hospital to observe me. I underwent all sorts of heart tests and was under constant monitoring. No problem was found. Two cardiologists are telling me that I should get a pacemaker to prevent this low heart rate (bradycardia) in the future so that I don't faint. I'm going to a electo cardiologist specialist soon to perform even more tests. Since getting back from the hospital, each time I have a bowel movement, I feel really tired. An have to eat and drink to get my energy back. I don't know what I originally got that hurt my digestive system so badly, but it seems to have caused some damage. In the hospital, I was given some powerful anitbiotics and anitvirals for my digestive system (cipro and flagemon?)...can't remember the antibiotic name right now. Ever since, I feel very tired after a bowel movement. I recover with tea and other food...but it takes time.

every morning like clock work i wake up in pain and run to the throne,, between 4A.M.---6:00A.M. then go back to bed then around an hour later, right back to the toilet,, this goes on about 3 to 6 times in the morning before i eat or drink anything.. then no matter what I eat or drink around 2-3 hours later I have to go again thats the daily routine no matter how much or how little i eat, thats what happens after 3 bowel resectstion`s and losing all my sigmoid colon and half my rectum, and what ever else they did in my first 2 resections..I drink watered down power- -ade to help restore my lost electrolytes.. I gave up all fried foods, no fast food, for 4--years now, no loss there, even with my pain meds I still go every morning and some times it`ll start at 9--10:oo.P.M. at night and that last a couple of hours,, until i completley empty out..... my remaining transverse, and whats left of my descending colon.. some times it helps to cut down on the amount of liquids in the evening.. hope things get back to a normal, that you can deal with.... my doc`s can only figure it`s from all the damage and all in there.. over the years of flare--ups.....scar tissue, adhesions..
