Hello everybody..Had to go ER on Sunday night because I could not breathe, had no energy, pain in chest and lungs and right leg got huge from calf down to my foot. Was in ER for six hours they admitted me finally after they found out oxygen level was 79, blood 24 and Plates 6.9 and had no reading at all on iron..Over the next two days, put four units of blood, 2 bags of iron, 4 antibotics bags to help clear one of three infections I have and along with 1 bag potassium, mag, and fatty tissues . They took out pic line three weeks ago because it was causing my Candid yeast infection. They also will not give my next Humria shot until infection is gone and it had closed all my open wounds on my belly but fistula had got bigger. Now three of my wounds have opened back up and are draining. I can handle the wounds but my biggest problem is my legs .At night when I elevate them the swelling goes down and within an hour of being up they get huge again. They looked at them again today and said there is no signs of blood clots. I was give support bandages for them but they made the swelling worse .They said I am retaining water and I need to wait a little while for the blood to mix together. I have had 7 transfusions over the last 9 months and everytime within a day my legs are not swollen. Has anybody had blood transfusions and swollen legs.. What treatment did you get and how long did t take for your legs to go down and did you do anything to help with your swelling...Good Luck, Mr.D
