Hi,
Does anybody have any idea about infectious ilecolitis? yesterday, i was rushed to my doc's office and in a 3rd time in a row he mentioned zat z microbe has returned. He prescribed antbiotic injections and told to return next week as i might undergo a colonoscopy. Two months ago, I was admitted to hospital and was prescribed z same antibiotic injections (ceftriaxone 1g) for a week. Also, z results of my two colonoscopies were mild active infectious ileocolitis. As far as i understand, ilecolitis means Crohn's in both z ileum and colon.
However , when I browsed z net, i found zat z causes of infectious colitis were microbes and viruses which are mainly food-borne. This doesn't apply to me. i do take 15 mg pred, 175 imuran and 4g Salofalk for z inflammation. Cud it happen zat zis microbe is autoimmune especially zat z percentage of my neutrophils (first defense of z body, a component of white blood cells) is always high (92%) in both my blood work and colonoscopy biopsies. This percentage goes down only temporarily after taking high doses of antibiotic injections and zen jumps up again. Thank you.
