prednisone side effects

Hello! I'm currently tapering off prednisone. It has been a LONG time since I've been on high doses of prednisone for an extended period of time, until the last few months. I've been on prednisone since the end of February. I have been as high as 60 mg, and have been on a super slow taper. I'm down to 15 mg now, and will taper to 10 mg tomorrow. I was wondering if someone could tell me about their experiences with tapering off prednisone. When did you see the moon face disappear? I also have some acne and have been losing hair. Do I have to wait until I'm off of prednisone completely? Will it take a while? Will it start getting better as I'm tapering and am on lower doses? I think it's been about 12 years since I've been on this much prednisone for this long, so I can't remember. But I can't wait to look and feel like myself again!

Thanks Nanners! I appreciate the advice, and will definitely add 2.5 mg into the taper. What happens if you taper too quickly? Is it hard on the body (I've heard that prednisone affects your adrenal glands)? Or are your crohn's symptoms more likely to return? I'm sad to think it may be weeks before I see a reduction in my symptoms. My baby shower is about 2 and a half weeks. I know that there will be a million pictures of me, and I was really hoping to look more like myself.
