I switched insurance in March. I proceeded to call my GIs office to ask if they could order my Pentasta and Prevalite through the new mail order. "Sure just send us a fax of the forms".
I called the next day to make sure they got the fax and got the snippiest response from the nurse. What is Prevalite. I never heard of it. I explained it was the sugar free version of cholestyramine that my GI ordered for me the last time. "Fine, I know what Cholestyramine is".
Lo and behold...cholestyramine arrives and it is not sugar free.
Move forward 3 months and I call GI to ask if they can call to get the cholestyrmaine replaced with Prevalite. Again major attitude--one time might be a bad day, but each time is a problem
What is prevalite? Why haven't we seen you recently?" (I know I explained that two minutes ago to you). Then the big one...I don't show we ever ordered cholestyramine for you...just Pentasa. Oh so now it is my fault that you have poor record keeping. "I don't see Prevalite anywhere on my list". Again I explained that the GI ordered it for me before. "I see sugar free cholestyramine" Wow...isn't that I have been talking about all along? Now she is nastily explaining that it will be a couple of days before the doc can approve and the script will have to be mailed to me.
I kept my tongue during all of this as I really like my GI. When I see him in Sept I am going to explain the "confusion" and see if he can make things better. I am just frutrated right now. Why can't they call in the script like was done in past? Why is she being so nasty? Why is their record keeping scaring me?
Just aaarrgh...I want my tummy ache to go away....she says as she stamps her feet and does a pouty lip.
