face rash

ever since being on remicaide i find my face rash is getting worse....It 's just in spots, forhead, eybrow,lower cheeks under my chin.

I hate it..i find it rather bothersome. Oh and how it itches. Could it be from the remi?? it doesn't look like a "butterfly" rash..It gets worse when i am hot( like out of the shower or out in the sun) I am going to try to get me a big ol floppy hat and stay out of the sun as much as i can..but i tell you it's driving me bonkers..Any ideas?

I have a peri-oral rash (dermatitis) brought on by 6mp. It drives me insane! So I went to the dermatologist and he put me on Eyrthamycin (sp?) gel to get me off of Elidel. Long term use of Elidel is not recommended The Eyrthamycin can dry the skin out so I use Aveeno calming sun screen 15spf under it and it has been working great. Have you seen a dermatologist yet?

no can't say as i have...i really don't want to put medicated stuff on my face..so i am going the natural way right now..and hoping it at least takes the redness away..I"ll deal with the itch

Takilra, if you can find a natural way to relieve the redness would you mind sharing? I too, don't like the prescription meds on my face but I didn't see any other way. I tried, redness relieving face washes (helped but didn't stop completely), I use Cetaphil now- but basically I have tried all OTC face washes and creams to no avail.

I went to a place called Saje..and they sell all natural stuff.. so i am trying some carrot lotion and a healing balm..I'll let you know if it works..

well today it`s gone down some..so fingers crossed it works...the smell is really herbal, but it fades in time..( kinda like it) And i am staying out of the sun( which is hard for me cause i am a sun bunny) So floppy hat here i come.

Please do keep us posted on how it works. I also find my facial rash bothersome! And I am wondering if mine is from Remicade, its been 5 weeks since my last infusion and this week the rash is showing some improvement.
I did go buy the big floppy hat. :-( I do not want to give up my Remi, it has healed my fistula and my large internal fissure. It hasn't taken away my joint, muscle, tendon pain, but I still think I have fibro too.
I plan on making a dermatologist appointment.…after my infusion.

I t appears that Remicade can cause sun sensitivity.Would it be worth trying a high factor sun protection cream(if you don't already) The one that appears to be recommended by health professionals(especially those dealing with problems on the face) is Sunsense(Australian brand)You can get it in a factor 50. It is tinted so your face doesn't take on that ghostly look and it isn't overly greasy either. I have been using it for a few weeks (although I am not on remicade) and it hasn't upset my skin in the slightest. Purchased it off of Amazon for approx £11.

GOSH DARN IT!!!!!!!!!! Oooooh it was so bad last night...my hubby had to sit on my hands so i wouldn't scratch it..Grrrrrr....now this morning it feels sooo darn tight i am afraid to smile..Not sure how i am going to go to work like this..I feel like a mutant. I mean i know I was never a "looker" but darn. Now i have to try calling my dr( ha that will take all bloody day) and see what she can do...FRICKN FRACK!

I took yesterday off work to go to the clinic...do you think they did anything? NOOOOO he took one look at me( after me telling him I am on remicade) and said,"call you gi." Well if it was that easy to get ahold of her , don't you think i would of done that???? So i spent 2 hours of calling, calling and more calling ( with my hubby on the cell as well as me on the land line) finally the office answers and low and behold she is scopping all day. Left a message to call me back, and do you think i heard anything?? Nope.
Today it isn't to to bad, it's there I can see it, but if anyone else looked, they would really have to look. Got some heavy duty anti-alergie pills and been popping them. I can only take one during the day ( cause they make me sleepy) took 2 last night and it was the first real sleep i had it days. SO today i go back to work, and we'll see what happens.

I am currently on Humira and noticed the same rash with my face toward the end of last year.  I accidently stumbled on Aveeno Calming Cream while on vacation earlier this year and it seems to help quite a bit for me.

still have this darn rash..... DId get some aloe vera gell and it's taken some of the itch away..but it's still there darn it..I go see my gi on the 2nd of aug..but i am terrified she will tell me something i don't want to hear, or i am going to have one hell of a reaction with my next infusion which is on the 8th. And boy oh boy is my body letting me know i am due for the next one.
I'ts never fricken ending..
