Panicked

I am currently on Remicade and have been for 2 years (with the exception of 5 months where I tried Humira.

The past week or so I have been extremely fatigued but unable to sleep at night - tossing and turning for the few hours I'm actually getting sleep. I am always either hot or cold, my face gets flushed at time, I get waves of nausea, bad headaches, and find myself having some night sweats. Also, my skin is itchy and looks dry, my lips are cracked from dryness, I just feel foggy and have some joint discomfort and abdominal pain.

I was thinking all this was happening because of a potential mild flare (increased abdominal pain and my labs have shown an increased CRP and B 12 deficiency earlier this year). When I first got dx with CD I had hypothyroidism so I thought maybe it had returned with the illness but after searching on here I see that these symptoms follow others with premature menopause.

I have been inconsolable since reading this. I'm 27 and want kids more than anything and I don't know if I can handle more medical issues - especially of this nature. I am completely freaked out. Has anyone else had symptoms that mocked early menopause but were actually just the disease or a thyroid or absorption issue because of CD?

I agree that it would be good to speak with your doctor about this.

Your symptoms could suggest all sorts of things: my feeling is that more tests will need to be done to determine what is causing them, and that you shouldn't worry too much until the doctor tells you that you need to . With luck, it will be something that can be easily diagnosed, and easily fixed.
