Weaning off Entocort and Severe back and hip pain??????

For the last 6 weeks I have been weaning off Entocort. I am down to one pill a day and have been experience severe back and hip pain. My family doc gave me a steroid shot in the hip yesterday and that didn't seem to help much. Has anyone experienced this... and if so what made it better.

For me it was just time. Once the steroids get out of your body, hopefully the joint pain will stop. Hugs!

Thanks for the quick response. about how long did it take for the steroids to leave your body? I have been on Entocort for about 14 months and weaning since July.

I started using entocort to relieve joint pain, so before I weaned I started using sulfazine. Then I was able to wean off entocort without any problems - I think I had hand/wrist pain for a couple of days and then it was gone. I'm sorry this is happening to you and I hope the joint pain resolves soon!

You may want to ask about a DEXA (bone density) scan to make sure you have no bone loss to worry about.  I have been having hip joint problems throughout. using the ento and the remi doesn't seem to help this joint pain.  You may want to also have your Vit D levels checked to make sure you are absorbing the calcium you are taking in.  Just some thoughts.
