Percocet

I am taking Percocet and find that it helps with my crohns but makes me itchy if I take the whole pill. I am wondering if I am allergic or if this is a common reaction to Percocet. ANyone else get itchy with Percocet?

Sometimes I get itchy, sometimes I dont. It happens with percocet and lortab for me randomly. If the itching bothers me too much I take benadryl or another allergy medicine.

An allergy would cause hives or something worse, so I wouldn't worry about it if the only symptom you have is itching. I'd just keep an eye on it and make sure it's not progressing into more. Most pain medicines can affect the nervous system (I believe) and as a side effect cause itching.

it's pretty common...i've been taking percs for over a year now...up to 15 mg x 6 a day- sounds like a lot but it's not...i used to get itchy more than i do now...now it's really rare but it still happens every once in a long while. careful with benadryl and percs...anything that can make you tired or slow your breathing can be dangerous with percs...if you're careful you should be ok though. i take xanax with the percs every once in a while...

mtgman- I am taking the 5/350. Do they make a 15/350? I have slight respiratory depression taking the 5's, so lord knows what the 15's would do to me, LOL

The Dr. gave me both Percocet and Dilaudid to test and I am trying each seperately to make sure they do not put me in SVT and so far, Percocet has passed my test and I will start trying the dilaudid today. Once I determine that I can take take one or both, I will have my surgery for AVN of the knee and that is what I will take after for pain. I am finding that the Percocet is helping my gut so I think I will request Percocet, as long as it relieves the surgery pain.

I was wondering about the tylenol. I am hoping one percocet will be enough for my post surgery pain, but somehow I doubt it...
