So I posted earlier that I found out I had a external hemorrhoid and the dr. Gave me hydrocortisone cream and told me to keep using the witch hazel so I went home and did just that the witch hazel worked some but the cream didn't work at all so I got on the Internet and read about Vicks at first I thought that's nuts but I was desperate so I tried it as soon as I did pain went away and it started to shrink that was 3 days ago now it's almost completely gone and I feel normal again....it does burn a little at first but it's soothing just thought I let Some of you guys that might be suffering

crohns diagnosed 2001

Right hemi colectomy 2008

Meds:imuran, and allopurinol

hmmm I don't think I'm going to be using vicks for that. You have to be very careful what you put THERE and also between your legs.. things are absorbed quickly and have to be made specifically for that area. I think sitting in a warm tub would have a much better effect on external ones. Those witchhazel/aloe wipes are great! After really cleaning the area after a BM it helps to use them every time. I have also found that cortisone suppositories really help as well.
