Received two pints of blood yesterday .....so what should I be feeling ?

Well, I woke up still tired ... but that is normal for me ~ and I have a headache ...that concerns me since I don't usually get headaches ...
Too early to tell if my breathing and chest pain have resolved ...

how long should it take to feel better ?

When did you get your next blood test to tell if things are better ...and also for those of you who had blood transfusions for iron low anemia ... did you have to continue taking IRON tablets ( yuk ) ??

I didn't really notice anything from the blood I received except within about a day I felt less tired and wasn't dizzy anymore. However I received Iron with my blood to help because my hemo was so low, 4.3. Did your doctor mention still taking the iron pills?

I would think you would need to still take iron for a little while to make sure the levels stay and don't drop or help them to keep rising. Probably two units of blood you are better but still anemic. I got another blood test one week after to see if I needed any additional blood or iron.

I hope you notice a difference and start feeling better!

well after i got mine, i felt alive. only cause i was near death the last couple times so i cant really say. and it was more than 10 years ago. so i dont really remember. good luck though
