Ran out of Iron pills

Hi all,

while on my camping trip I ran out of my Iron pills I only take one a day but I do notice a difference and I can not buy more until the 3rd of nov when i get my SSD check in.  I did have a CBC done a few days after running out. Will this show in the CBC/  Also this is to test my WBC with Imuran so why isnt my GI running a White count diff like my old GI ran when I had leukopenia with Imuran?  Oh well I see the GI in the am was doing great til yesterday had to take 3 pain pills yesterday and had not taken one in over 2.5 weeks.

Your doctor should test you for not only anemia but also iron, ferriton, and a 3rd test that escapes me at the moment that also shows how well your body stores iron. Your anemia can also be caused by a lack of b12. Most Crohnies cannot absorb it by eating as most of us have inflamed terminal ileums or have had them removed. That is the only place where b12 can be absorbed. That is also why we have to have b12 shots once or twice a month. Your doctor should test for your b12 levels if you are that anemic

Also, if you find that taking the usual iron pills bother you (they can irritate your insides) solgar makes a special iron pill called gentle iron that has no side effects
