Do stomach issues ever really go away with this disease?

I thought about it, ivy, decided I couldn't concentrate, and so have spent the whole day mooching around online instead. I was playing Farmville at least, but - in a particularly braindead moment - I clicked on Buy instead of Redeem and spent 15 hard-to-obtain farm cash on a Pumpkin Cow by accident, whereupon in disgust I closed the browser.

And haven't opened it since :-/

I'll give Five a go afterwards, though. And perhaps Bejewelled, too. Nothing which requires heavy thinking or fast reflexes, as I'm not up to either. For reading, I do have a couple of books on the go. Thinking of reading the Narnia series all over again, beginning with The Magician's Nephew. My nephew is mildly obsessed with the Narnia films atm, but they are rubbish compared to the books - I want to try to get him into the books.

Apparently we have one - count it, one - species of cicada. I had no idea. That's my new thing learnt for the day <_<.

Going back to video games, I've also started a new game on the PSP, Final Fantasy: War Of The Lions. It looks pretty good and I've only done the tutorial so far. It's a strategic RPG, so will probably require a few brain cells...

Agreed about reading and learning. I do want to return to studying one day. It would probably have to be part time or online only, as I couldn't afford to go to uni full-time, but that's okay. I'd really like to get a degree, as that was something I never got when younger.

It's a farming game on Facebook. I joined it for a joke, partly because it was the only FB game I'd heard of before joining FB, but the joke was on me: I ended up becoming seriously addicted to it <_<.

Think my absolute favourite as a child was Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but The Silver Chair was probably my second favourite - loved that book.

I wouldn't recommend seeing the films; you'll almost certainly be disappointed. To me, they just don't capture anything of the magic or the atmosphere of the books: it's all noise and special effects. They certainly do fall massively, massively short of the books...

I had a go at Five, btw. It's a sweet little puzzle game, but surprisingly hard. My brain hurts and I didn't manage to clear the screen even once... <_<

I did think the movie of The Postman (Kevin Costner) was better than the book, though, so there's an exception to every rule.

I'm hoping you're wrong about Five, because I really do feel stupid if we're meant to clear the screen! I just go for maximum points.

I'm jealous! I love that sort of game. I was hooked on Sim City, until it became too outdated to play on my computer.

*read a few chapters of The Magician's Nephew, with the aim of finishing it by next Wednesday so I can take it over to my nephew (this one is ambitious for a lazy reader like me; it usually takes me weeks to finish a book...)

@ivy - Come over and join the Dark Side, aka Facebook :p ... It's not hard to set up a FB account that's invisible to anybody who isn't on your friends list. You also, of course, don't have to use your real name but can use a made-up one or a pseudonym. The only drawback to Farmville - and all FB games in fact - is that it's very much dependent on having lots of neighbours, which until recently meant having to add strangers to your friend list to get them. FV has a new feature now where you can add neighbours without having to 'friend' them first. I've actually been lucky with my neighbours: even though I don't know most of them from Adam, they all seem like pleasant people - no weirdos or anything.

I honestly think you'd really enjoy Farmville. It is a bit of a time-suck if you get heavily into it, but what's time for if not for the wasting of it? <_<
