Crohns can definetly cause joint pain, as well as feeling tired and sick. If you aren't eating much you'll feel tired, I myself am going through a phase where my appetite isn't as big and I was having some nausea.

This disease can really throw people around, it's certainly happened to me.

You didn't say what part of your left side is having pins and needles. If it is your leg, then it could be that you are having pain there due to piriformis syndrome. The piriformis is a small muscle that wraps around the sciatic nerve. When it goes into a spasm, it can squeeze the nerve and make your leg and hip and foot really hurt. The piriformis is right in the middle of your buttock and typically gets inflamed when you have sacroilietis (inflammation in the sacroiliac joint). The sacroiliac joint is where your spine meets your pelvis, and where a lot of people with inflammatory bowel disease have joint problems.

The solution to the piriformis syndrome is to treat the muscle spasm, usually with alternating ice and heat, but also physical therapy. If you have problems in your SI joint, though, it will be hard to prevent piriformis syndrome until you resolve some of the SI problem (again through physical therapy to help with range of motion and core strength) and through treating your inflammatory bowel disease effectively.

I hope you are continuing to work with your GI on a medical treatment plan for your Crohn's. Since you have joint involvement also, you should see a rheumatologist.
