Not doing so good on 20 mg of Prednisone

I woke up today with pain back in my feet, my ankle feels stiff. Good signs that the EN is trying to strike back. Had some stomach pain last night, and emptied my guts. I'm so frustrated with my doctors. The doctor in the hospital only sent me home on 20 mg, tapering that week to none. I got to 10 mg and started flaring up again. So I called my doctor on Friday, filled him in on everything. He bumped me back up to the 20 mg. But the last time I flared I was on at least 40 mg. And it seems like that's the usual dosage for at first for a while. I DO NOT want to go down hill again, and end up back in the hospital.

Trying to decide whether I bug him again on a weekend, up it myself to 40 mg, or just stay at 20 mg today and call tomorrow. I'm supposed to have a follow up with him this week anyway. Just so frustrating, my birthday is next Saturday. I'd sure like to be feeling better by then. :(

20 mg just isnt enough prednisone to do anything. I think you should call him and insist on 40 mg for at least a couple weeks, then start to taper.

Sorry Jen didn´t read this post untill I´ve read what you answered on my thread.

I usually need at least 40mg up to 60mg pred for it to slow down. So bug him! It´s his job.
Perheps you need to take another medication?
