I used to having lots of diarrhea, but diarrhea with a head of foam on it like beer is bothering me.
I've had this virus /bug now for over two weeks, no sign of letting up. I've got antibiotics, but I've quit taking
them due to my CD flaring when I take them. I'm really getting to the miserable stage now. Anyone
got any ideas about the foam situation. Help... *Pout*

Usually the foam is from fat malabsorption. Did you eat anything you shouldn't have? I know you didn't but.....

Sorry I haven't had this foam issue before, hope someone else at this forum may help you. Just a question: Is it foam like or a bit like membranous? I once I had this and it was pseudo-membranous colitis but hopefully, you won't have it. I'm concerned about how long did you take the antibiotics. I have been in a proctitis flare up too since September 30 and I have taken 3 courses of antibiotics and could not finish any coz of vomiting due to GERD and gastritis. My doc kept telling me that I have to try to tolerate any course for 10 days in order to get rid of any bacteria. After failing everything, he gave me a 3 - day antiprotozal course . I think you should talk to your doc and tell him that these antibiotics are bothering you. He will have a solution.

Zanne, no I haven't eaten anything, but you've given me an idea as to what's up. The pains I'm getting
is in the middle of my stomach, almost gastric. So know I'm wondering if my pancreas is flaring as well.
That certainly would account for the fat malabsorption, the fevers and the pain. I have to admit it's not my
typical pancreatic pain, but it certainly could be warning signs. I hope not, pancreatitis is one pain I don't deal
with too well, it scares me to death. If it continues I'll give my specialist a call. Thanks.

Minnietoty, are you talking about the z pack, If so did you do ok with that?

I had that kind of D a lot when my CD was big time flaring (only med and dose I was on at the time was Humira 1 time every other week post op. Bumping it to every week helped with that I still have it but much less frequently

Vicky, I hope it isn't pancreatitis. Is there any thing you can do to ward it off it it is early days?

Basically the same as you would for an obstruction, fluids only and cross fingers it settles!! :(

Perhaps you have a little Creon left and can take it to give your pancreas a rest . I know how painful it can be when it flares up so don't wait too long before you have it checked out . Big hug (((((((Vicky)))))))

I was switched to Viokase Sniper, same sort of thing, and I will admit I've allowed myself to run out.
Probably because it was behaving itself. Taught me a lesson :(

(((hugs))), Dunny. Sometimes we just don't learn about faithfully taking our meds, do we? Hopefully getting back on the Viokase will end this misery!!!!!!

I think I had this "foam" many years ago. I never considered why it happened though. I sure hope you feel better Vicky.

If it is acid reflux, mine starts with bad pain in stomach area if on tablets that don't agree with me, try some omeprazole. It seems to be only thing that works on acid reflux with me, nothing else has any effect. Hope it settles soon.
