Different pain

I saw my GP today and while he palpated my abdomen my "normal" CD area was uncomfortable but also the area under my ribcage (center where they meet up) was very tender when he pushed on it it also caused me to burp.  I have noticed increased burping lately but have no symptoms of thrush any thoughts?

I agree with Nanners.  Palpating the belly right below the sternum is how my PCP determined I needed a proton-pump inhibitor to help reduce my gastric acid.  I was having upper gastric pain, and every EGD I've ever had shows gastritis, so I did take ppis for a few years.  There are plenty over-the-counter meds.  The risks of long term use are small, but there is a chance of "pernicious anemia," which is due to an absorption issue, and also calcium uptake might be reduced when you're taking a ppi.

Thanks for the tips I do notice on occassion I need tums (prior to my gall bladder being removed I was on Zantac 150 when they were still a script). He didnt say anything though just that well thats not where your pain normally is and left it at that. I do go through bouts of reflux that make me nauseated but the burping is what my mom had from a hiatal hernia and my dad has the burping from GERD so def will bring it up with my GI next time I see him
