I am 15 years old. I've had crohns for a year now. My fistula started when i had my colonoscopie. (sorry for spelling) It must've started then because maybe it irritated it or somthing. I went to the hospital because of my intense pain, and they put my on meds for UTi infections and gave me remmicade and a few other medicines through a IV. I am now on remmicade every 8 weeks. within the last few months, my fistulas been leaking. It wasn't bad at first, only once in a while. then it got a little worse, and it was hard to pee. Then it seemed to get better, but now recently its started to leak agian. usually its just air, my urine is yellow, if its leaking somthing besides air its not much because i dont notice it in my pee. Every time it leeks it is very painful. it happens like 1 or 2 times a day. It is a little painful to pee, but not bad. I don't get it how it will be open sometimes and closed sometimes for a long time.
and the thing is, i'm really afraid of surgery. How bad is surgery? Would i have to stay out of school for 2 weeks sitting in the hospital? I really dont want to do that. And sometimes i fear the surgery will go wrong and somthing else will end up being hurt or somthing. my crohns itself is under control mostly, i get a tiny bit of tummy pain once in a while but nothing to be concerned of.. Has anyone gotten this surgery? How was it and how long did you have to stay in the hospital? Also, i seem to find myself being achy often. Is this a symptom of crohns?
any help?
