Gastroparesis connected to Crohn's?

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile, but always appreciate your feedback. I recently went in for a stomach emptying test, since I was having bouts of extreme nausea, bloating and heartburn. I have had GERD for almost 20 years, and am on the maximum dose of Nexium. The results came back with the stomach condition, gastroparesis. This doesn't surprise me, since I have had Crohn's issues for years. I was just wondering if anyone else suffered from this and if it was related to Crohn's? Thanks in advance for any input you might have!

I tend to have Ga slow emptying of the stomach(crohn's affects me from mouth to stomach then a patch in the SI and in colon) and I'm pretty sure it's from the Crohn's. When I had my last Barium x-ray the barium stayed in my stomach for so long the x-ray techs asked me to go to the cafeteria to eat so they could finish the test ;)

I hate it because I can see something I'm actually in the mood for(like a cookie) I'm usually already full and bloated. Like this morning, I had to make myself eat to take my medicine. I was still full from dinner.

Oh, I also have the GERD too. Taking Zantac twice a day and prilosec in the morning has done wonders for me! Along with Zofran!

I was diagnosed with gastroparesis two years ago. It comes and goes, but when it's bad, it's really bad. Reglan works miracles, though. I would love it if there was a study on the correlation between Crohn's and gastroparesis.

Puking Pentasa is always fun . . . it's such a treat to have neon blue vomit :)

I've had CD for almost 21 yrs now and I do not have gastroparesis syndrome, I never get nauseated and in my almost 21 yrs of having CD I've thrown up twice (both times from a stomach flu)...sure doesn't sound fun to have gastroparesis syndrome, like having CD isn't enough to deal with eh.
