I am sorry to hear you are having joint pain. I am about to finish my second 8-week round of Entocort. I had no noticeable problems during the first round (June-July), but this time I have been getting headaches 3-4 times per week. Usually I have maybe one headache a month and it is a mild annoyance more than anything, but these headaches are the kind that, if you don't stop them early, turn into a big pounding nightmare. Plus it didn't clear up my diarrhea like it did last time. I really don't know what to think of that since there are so many variables with us Crohnies, it could be something is preventing the Entocort from working or something else. I haven't had any joint pain, though - only random muscle pain occasionally. IMO, if you feel that the diarrhea can only be controlled, or most effectively controlled, with steroids, then take them. Otherwise you may have better quality of life if you try anti-diarrheals or a different diet or something. I have had pretty much constant diarrhea since Nov. of last year with only a few breaks of normal BMs, and I have tried so many things. For me, it seems that the best solution is to trust my GI and hope the imunosuppressants start kicking in.
Sorry this is such a long post. Moral of the story: Sorry you are having joint pain; only you (and your GI!) can decide the best way to handle the diarrhea; feel better!
