stupid painful skin tag

Hi all it seems these darn things love to swell.  My husband saw the tag the other day and was quite surprised at how swollen the main one I have is.  He said it is about the diameter of my pinky finger, now I am not big in any way height weight etc so neither are my fingers (my ring finger is a size 4.5 so my pinky finger is also quite small however nothing the size of any one of your fingers should be where thisis or so darn painful

I swear I let me GI know about the stuff he kind of smiles nods and thats the extent of it ...just frustrated I guess is all

Tell me about it, I know what a literal pain in the arse they are....from what you're describing, your biggest one is about the size of my smallest one, my biggest one is quite large and irritating....because I had them banded due to being misDX as hemmies, it's too late for mine to ever shrink away, but I was told (for all the good it did me) that had they not been banded while in a terrible flare (being large and hard) then likely a script of cortifoam rectal meds would have shrunk them away, so you could always ask your doc for a script and see if it in fact will work or not, won't likely hurt anything to try.

Alot of GI's are just stupid when it comes to perianal crohn's skin tags...so I'd definitely ask him about the cortifoam (it was a colon and rectum surgeon that gave me the above info regarding perianal crohn's skin tags and cortifoam.

about that foam is it just a topical foam or??? yeah my worst one actually goes from where my vagina ends and that skin all the way back to my anus and about as wide as a typical pencil maybe a little bigger (when swollen like it is now and it gets hard when it swells) course when I go see my GI on the 18th darn thing will be not as swollen I swear

No, it's not topical, you'd have to administer it into your anus (and trust me, it's not fun with having those tags since I've had to do it millions of times over the 20 yrs I've had crohn's when my proctitis flared up on me many times over the last 2 decades, but it can be done, and if it helps shrink your tags up, it's worth it, just know that there is no guarantee they won't come back (with it being CD, it has a mind of it's own as you're well aware and it can be the nature of crohn's disease especially for the onset of a flare or a flare getting worse).

Yes, you're talking about the "taint" area between the vagina and anus, (as in "it taint your vagina and it-aint your anus)....my large one cover most of that area for me as well, it's annoying as hell.

Gosh, LOL, be glad if it shrinks away before your appointment, but I'd still ask him for a script since those buggers do like to make surprise apperances...generally though, they tend to rear their ugly heads when a flare is starting or getting worse.

ugh it stinks having to sit, I have a blanket all folded up on my cushioned chiar and i switch from 1 cheek to the other

That sounds really painful, dragonfly, and I agree with you about it hurting to sit.

No sound words of advice or anything; just lots of sympathy.

Try lots of sitz baths with lots of epsom salt....I will often do them and then after getting out of the tub I gently rub some extra virgine olive oil on my skin tags (I keep a seperate bottle in my bathroom since I use it daily as a moisturizer), it's helpful with relieving some of the discomfort and especially if you have fissures (it will actually heal fissures).
