Have some questions please!

Was curious if anyone could tell me how often the GI tests to see if you still have inflammation. I had a small bowel barim that showed Chrons and was put on pred and have to go see him on the 27th to discuss long term treatment. Do they recheck the bowel at that time or how does it work? How often does everyone see their GI after being diagnosed? I would love to hear from someone on my curiousity...:)

As kazbern has said, it largely depends on your symptoms. For the first few years of my disease, I would say I saw a GI 2-3x a year. In recent years, it's been a bit more frequent than that, but that's because I've been flaring up a whole lot more. For example, I was due to see my current GI in April, but after a short hospital stay that was brought forward to the end of this month. He'd probably love to only see me once a year, but that ain't happening... <_<

The frequency of tests again tend to correlate with symptoms. It does seem to vary quite a bit, but major tests (colonoscopy, small bowel follow-through, etc.) are on average probably carried once every 3 years or so in the case of stable, well-controlled disease. It can be more or less than that, though. I doubt however you will get another barium follow-through so soon after your last one: it's more likely that your GI will gauge your progress from your description of symptoms and blood test results.
