Pain under left breast,Stomach Problem?

Often people with Crohn's also have or develop GERD [gastro-esophgeal reflux disease]. That is basically long-term heartburn. When I was first diagnosed, I developed severe stomach pain and lots of belching, and a burning sensation under my sternum [breast bone.] It is also possible that the Imuran is causing your stomach pain and burping.

I was prescribed Prevacid aand it made all the difference in the world. There are lots of different medications for this. One thing you could try before you see the doctor is to try eating a Tums or two and see if you get any relief.

Hi, it's now 4-5 days since you've posted and I hope you are feeling better, but if your not, then you might want to also read up on Pancreatitis as well as the Liver. Just so you know, it's a stretch that you have Pancreatitis, by it can't hurt you to read up on it, as many of us do not have identical symptoms with most of our disorders as others do. You didn't didn't say, but are you bleeding rectally? That could be a symptom of Pancreatitis. I too had and still do have pain (off and on for a yr now) in an area close to where you have yours. My pain went from rom under the right lower rib cage...across the top to the stomach to the lower left rib cage. Although my pain was not throbbing, but it was a steady pain, until I laid down and laid still for a while, then it would often go away, but when I got up, the pain was immediately back as soon as I tried to sit up and it was really bad in my upper back. According to what I've read, my symptoms point to Pancreatitis (inflammatory of the pancreas causing dead to pancreas tissue and death of insulin producing cells) That may or may not be something you have but sadly, there seems not to be much written about it on here, so you will have to read about it on the internet and see if you feel the symptoms of Pancreatitis match yours. BTW if you do, stop eating every thing and just drink a tiny bit of boiled water and lay still as possible (that will stop all or most of the pain) and see your DR. I was hospitalized back in mid-December for similar pain. I have had Crohn's for almost a year- symptoms of pain in my ileum, diarrhea, nausea, etc. This pain was different, upper left abdominal area. Extreme nausea accompanied this. The ER doctors treat everything as a flair! They started me on iv steroids, protonix, morphine. My GI doctors thought it could have been a gastritis-type flair, or jejunal pain. They sent me home on oral prednisone and I have been fine until starting the taper down to 15mg daily, almost of my symptoms returned.
