They moved my appointment up!!!

Had a voicemail on my cell when Ileft work from the gastros office...nurse said they had received all my medical records, and the doctor had moved my appointment to the 7th.  Thats great news...very anxious to get something done about this non stop cramping!! And now I have never had rectal pain before, but I have had a few almost sharp pains on the left side of my rectal area...not sure what thats about.  You guys are gonna be a great help to me, I can already see that...THanks to all...I will keep posting, and will be on here everyday!!!

Hi kimmysue, that's good news. The sooner you find out what they have to say the sooner you can get started on some treatments that will work best for you. As for the rectal pain, sorry I've not had that so I can't be of any help there...maybe it's just a passing pain and nothing to worry about ( I get pains here and there from time to time and they pass quickly and they don't seem to be related to anything specific, so I learned not to get upset about various aches and pains, as long as they don't last long and go away and nothing comes of them). Another thought, possibly it's refereed pain, I have that from time to time. Sorry I can't be of more help with this part.

Glad that the appointment has been put in advance. Well, pain in the rectal area has a lot of meanings. Is it constant or just temporary non-recurrent pain? If you get this pain after a bowel movement, apply lidocaine and take a sitz bath. However, if the pain persists, hopefully, it doesn't, tell this to your doc when you see him and he can send you to a colorectal surgeon to investigate the issue.

Congrats! I support what Hawaii and Minnie have said about the rectal pain. I am sorry you have been having a rough go of it, but just keep thinking that at least now you know what you have and can get treatment for it! Better times are ahead :)
