Cimzia and Yeast problems - not the womenly kind.

I've been on Cimzia 400mg shots once a month for almost a year now. I have terrible yeast problems...not the womenly kind either. I have it behind my ear, in my ear, behind my knee, under my arm and on my side where my bra sets. Sometimes it will be under my chin and on my neck. It terrible disgusting and annoying. My GI says it's my immune system weakened and causing this problem but I wondered if anyone else has this problem and what they do about it??

My reg physician has given me a great cream to take care of it, but I have to put it on all the spots daily and it get terribly cumbersome after a while, i just stop doing it - and then get all bad again and start the cream regime up again. I'd like a better solution.

I am on Imuran and got thrush in my esophagus about a month ago, so I would agree that it is the immune system being depressed so much. I took an oral anti-fungal and that cleared it up, but man it made me feel absolutely horrible. I had almost constant nausea. If it is worth it to you, I would try the pills like Gumby suggested, but keep in mind that it may make you feel bad.

Do you take probiotics? You might also try cutting out all refined sugars, simple sugars and grains (which feed yeast), at least until you have it under control.

I highly recommend you read the book The Body Ecology by Donna Gates. I had so much problem with yeast and this helped me so much. Your body needs to be cleaned out and realkalined. It's tough at the beginning but I promise you, well worth it. You need to stop feeding the yeast and bacteria in your body. No sugar of any kind (this includes substitutes), no yeast products and a high alkaline diet. I had the hardest time at first because I have such a sweet tooth, but after awhile it got easier. Trust me on this, the outcome is so much better then yeast infections and beats taking another medication.
