this is my third round in three months of flagyl, i asked the dr to put me on it. this time it cleared up my joint pain and my diaherra is like I know when it is goung to happen but its not stopping is it because I am taking tylonal cold, im confused. Usually my diaherra just happens and i cant control when i go so i shouldnt be complaining, and im nausated. not all the time. any input??? smhair

What other meds are you on? Maybe you need more traditional Crohn's meds, not just Flagyl???

He gave me asacol, but he wants me to finish the flagyl first. and im on prilosic. Im so tired of the diaherra i could scream.

You should always take probiotics when on antibiotics such as Flagyl. All probiotics are good but S. Boulardii is especially effective for offsetting the bacteria that cause diarrhea. It is sold in health food stores or Whole Foods by itself or under the brand name Florastor.

I was put on long term flagyl & flagyl/cipro..The first med for CD I was put on was a high dose of just flagyl for 2 months...I don't tolerate any kind of sulfa very well..My first CD doctor was convinced high dose anti-biotics was the right treatment form..I have never been on biologics..The only CD med I am on now is predisone..I did end up with a bacteria overgrowth problem within three months anytime I was off the combos for along time as an effect..

i SEEM TO BE SO MUCH BETTER TODAY JUST DIZZY SORTA LIGHT HEADED. BUT MY DIAHERRA IS GONE, YEA.ALL i HAVE BEEN EATING IS SOUP AND BAGELS PLAIN. MAYBE A BLONGA SANDWICH, NOW i HAVE A QUESTION tHIS IS MY THIRD ROUND AND i KNOW IT MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE, THE FIRST ALMOST WORKED THE SECOND ALMOST WORKED IF THIS ONE WORKS AM i CURED OR WILL IT COME BACK? i AM GETTING PROBIOTICS TODAY AND i CAN TAKE THEM WITH FLAGYL? CAN i TAKE MY VITAMINS WITH FLAGYL CAUSE i STOPPED THEM? i KNOW LOTTA QUESTIONS. SORRY
