Does anyone know if pentasa has sulfa in it?

Nah. Sulfasalazine does, but that's an older drug which isn't used much nowadays. None of the newer mesalazines have sulfa in them, which, because of that, are better tolerated than sulfasalazine.

Actually they have found that (for UC at least) sufasalazine is the more effective drug and a lot of pediatric GIs are using it over the newer ASAs. They believe it's due to the mild antibiotic component of ssz. But, of course, some can't tolerate it, or any ASAs for that matter.

I do second Killcolitis. Sulfasalazine is considered to be a key drug for proctitis but it is intolerable.
