Hi everyone! Well tomorrow I am having a colonoscopy scheduled by my GI because of some weird inconsistencies, one including lot of random bleeding from the perianal area. I have an abscess/ PG..etc.
veI also have an ileostomy So, for my prep, my GI told me to do 3 fleet enemas. Ok. Sure. I had never done them before. She wants two the night before (tonight) and one the morning before (4:15 am tomorrow) the colonoscopy. I say ok, I'll give it a try.
Well, it was terrible. Blood everywhere. On the walls, in the grout, in my slippers, in between my toes. It was horrifying. I realize how alarming this is, and I am not too concerned about it because I know the blood is coming from the unknown bleeding area.
For the life of me, I couldn't get it to work. Yes, the cap was off. I think I had it in my rectum but I was squeezing the bottle so hard and not a single drop of water would come out, both into my body or onto the floor. Mind you, it is definitely possible that Ididn't even have the enema in the rectum but in another hole instead? (PG?, abscess?). I then asked my sister to help me and even with her help, we couldn't get the enema to work properly. For some completely unknown reason, with her we were able to get a little of a bottle to work, and I did evacuate, but definitely not enough for a colonoscopy.
I am at my wits end! I can't figure it out!
So I am here to ask if anyone has any tips, ideas, tricks, solutions or anything to help me! Anything would be very much appreciated!
Thanks you guys!
Sarah
