Welcome to the forum.
Yes, there is a medicine which has put people in remission with Crohns. It's got a good success rate, and has been around since the 1980's - with almost NO side effects.
But most doctors won't prescribe it because Big Pharma won't make money on it.
If you can get your gastro (must be very forward thinking) or an alternative doc to prescribe it for you, that would be great.
Here's the info on it: LDN - low dose naltrexone.
Here's the Penn State research done by Dr. Jill Smith with LDN and Crohns Patients.

I've had Crohn's disease since 1975 and I'm still alive and kicking and doing quite well, thank you. I've had one resection and I'm taking Imuran (azathioprine) and Pentasa (mesalamine) and they are controlling my Crohn's very well for me.
Crohn's seldom kills as long as we get on the medications that work for us and mind our diet by not eating or drinking those foods that trigger symptoms and by getting enough rest and not overdoing whilst still staying active getting plenty of fresh air and exercise doing fun things w/friends and family.

My grandmother, who was never diagnosed with Crohn's but lived her whole life with "bowel problems," died when she was 93.
I am turning 50 this year and I'm doing fine. You can see my meds in my signature.
