I'm having swelling drama! It's been going on for awhile and normally I chalk it up to PMS. However, it's way too early in my cycle for the PMS symptoms to start, so I'm becoming increasingly concerned the swelling is being caused by some other unknown health issue. I googled it, which was a huge mistake (I really should listen to my doctor when he tells me to stay off the internet!), because scary things showed up, like congestive heart failure, diabetes, etc. I'm only 40, not overweight (probably too thin) and with exception of Crohn's, otherwise pretty healthy. It couldn't possibly be congestive heart failure, right???
I'm wondering if the swelling is just part of CD. Does anyone else experience this? I had flats on the other day, and by the time I got home from work, the tops of my feet were so swollen, puffy and sore that my skin was up over the top of my shoes and my ankles were huge. I made a pit stop at my local pharmacy and purchased a pair of compression socks, which I then wore until I went to bed that night. The socks seemed to help tremendously with the ankle swelling but did nothing for the swelling on the tops of my feet.
Please weigh in! Thanks!
