MRI for fistula

Has anyone had an MRI for a perianal fistula? I'm wondering if I have to drink the barium contrast stuff for this test? I'm having it done tomorrow, I've had the MRI enterography with the three big jugs of barium and I'm dreading having to chug that stuff down again.

Any ideas what I can do for the pain? I've had fistulas before but this one is by far the most painful. Ugh.

Generally, no, you don't have to drink anything for a perianal scan. Or at least, I haven't had to.

Be prepared: they might want to stick a tiny probe up your bottom, though, that has to stay in place for the duration of the scan. They may decide not to do this if you're in lots of pain.
